The year 2011 was characterized by new products. At the ProLight+Sound trade show in March, some innovations in the "ProRental" product range could be presented: GRAVIS 12 N/W, NOMOS LS and PASSIO.
The full range system GRAVIS 12 with its modern qualities such as "light, slim, loud" has the required capacities for becoming a worthy successor of the popular CA1215. The compact subwoofer NOMOS LS with its well-contoured and powerful bass reproduction provides an ideal complement for the bass range.
The PASSIO assumes the inheritance of the legendary CA 106. Small, strong, black - this is its summary description. A special feature is the high directivity compared with the compact size of the system. But users are also fascinated by the operation of the new Varipoint. This junction point in the enclosure of the ProRental products permits a quick mounting of accessories without tools on the one hand, but it allows also in installations the fastening by threaded screws on the other hand.
Neumann & Müller Veranstaltungstechnik is an event service provider of international reputation and leader in Germany, they purchased the first 120 PASSIO systems after having been intensely involved in its development.
On the international level, distribution contracts with Taiwan and Finland were concluded, and the first significant projects have been realized. Sennheiser Canada placed the first SEQUENZA 10 system. The Chinese exclusive distributor Shanghai MYC participated successfully at the Palme Beijing. The 112 m² booth included a show room where products were presented to potential customers.
The PASSIO and the GRAVIS 12 were tested by various specialized magazines. The famous tester Professor Anselm Goertz confirmed in Production Partner excellent measured values for both K&F product innovations, and also highest perfection in construction and manufacturing quality as well as very fine sound characteristics on reference level.
In March, the K&F ACADEMY organized the first "Intensive SEQUENZA 10 System Operator Training" - and 3 more training courses followed subsequently. Also abroad, further workshops could be organized, and the number of training events increased significantly.
The K&F product range was devided into ‘ProRental’, ’InstallSound’ and ‘Classics’. The cardioid subwoofer NOMOS XLC and the floor wedge SCENA 15 extended the SEQUENZA 10 line array in the new segment "ProRental". The ProRental range is marked by characteristics such as easy handling, tool-less installation, low weight and central control by the K&F SystemRack.
In the field of "InstallSound", the SONA SUB has been presented as bass complement for the successful small-size speaker SONA 5.
The international sales network was extended by the nomination of new distributors in Luxembourg, Turkey and Nigeria during the leading trade exhibition prolight + sound in Frankfurt. On the Chinese market, the change to the distributor Shanghai MYC is promising an extraordinary growth potential, this fact has already been confirmed by the first business projects.
The SEQUENZA system was employed successfully on the DonauInselfest and proved once more that the SEQUENZA 10 line array is fitting also to "loud" events with top bands and audiences of more than 15000 spectators. The international monitor specialist Horst Hartmann (e.g. PINK, Sade) took the SCENA 15 on the Tour of the band Juli and resumed the floor wedge as a good working tool. The international consulting engineering company Müller BBM decided after a shoot-out to install the SONA 5 in their showroom. Further the SONA 5 is also specified for the room acoustical system VIVACE, which is used for appropriate reverberation in concert halls and opera houses.
In April at the Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt, the bass supplement for the successfully launched Line Array System K&F SEQUENZA 10 was introduced: the 2 x 15” subwoofer can be flown and used as a cardioid system in a combination of three. The K&F catalogue got a makeover, and the website was given a new look at the end of the year.
The SEQUENZA 10 was successfully used at various events such as the Wacken Open Air, the ELO Tour in England, the Meersburg Open Air and the GOA Festival in Switzerland. Kling & Freitag changed importers in South Korea and now has cooperates with Kusan Acoustics.

In addition to the K&F SEQUENZA 10, which is widely popular among service providers due to its excellent acoustic features and high cost effectiveness, the new K&F SystemRack was also able to establish itself. It is attuned for use with K&F SEQUENZA 10 and all other K&F speaker systems.
Kling & Freitag also introduced its new small P.A. speaker K&F SONA 5. The 5” / 1” speaker out of flame-retardant plastic (VO according to UL 94) is especially suitable for integration into setups with a sophisticated design.
The trade press praised both innovations very positive critiques.
In December, Kling & Freitag released its simulation software K&F CON:SEQUENZA in the version 1.0 on the K&F website. The freeware carries through static and acoustic calculations of the K&F SEQUENZA 10 Line Array Systems. Based on the FEM Multi-Source-Model, it produces an exact calculation of the sound dispersion in the audience levels.
The first year with the new German K&F SystemPartners was a success and will continue to be the basis for marketing and distribution activities in the German market in the future.
2008 was once again a year of numerous installations, especially in Austria, but also in China with the Shenyang Olympic Stadium, the central venue for the Olympic matches in women’s football and other Olympic competitions.
With the new Line Array K&F SEQUENZA 10, Kling & Freitag is yet again strengthening its focus on the professional rental range. Consequently, Jürgen Freitag is since the mid of 2008 the sole owner and the sole managing director of the Kling & Freitag GmbH.
In January, the delivery of the new digital system controllers K&F CD 44 and K&F CD 24 began. With their novel Sense Technology, these controllers offer optimal system protection and performance for nearly all types of K&F speakers while providing highest audio quality. At the end of March at the Prolight + Sound, the option ‘Installation’ was introduced for the passive models CA 1201, CA 1215, CA 1515, and Line 212. The harmonious appearance of the systems increases the architectural integration in fixed installations.
